Indy Pace Car
The New Le Baron Convertibles, when introduced were sleek, luxurious and sporty. And it would have the distinction of being the first modern Chrysler convertible factory-built from the ground-up, rather than “converted” from a two-door coupe.
This “NEW” Convertible was selected to be the pace car for the 1987 Indianapolis 500 race, and the actual pacing duty was handled by none other than Carroll Shelby. Three matching replicas were built at that time for official use. Chrysler also created a limited number, around 1000 of Pace Car replica Convertibles and Coupes for sale to the public and this is one of those.
Purchased new by a famous Automobile Parts Supplier from Texas for his personal collection, and then continued to be collector owned, explaining the ultra-low miles. Actual miles are printed on the title.
