Thunderbird
The last of the original two-seat Thunderbird line, the 1957 model is considered the most stylish and collectable of the first generation T-birds. Restyled for 1957 this “personal car” was lengthened about 6 inches while the rear fins were curved out and the spare tire returned to the trunk. The larger grill aided cooling and the bumpers front and back were revamped. All together the 1957 Thunderbird was sleeker than the first two years of T-birds and far more stylish than the four passenger and boxy models that followed.
This example of the highly desirable '57 T-bird is an original car. A subtle “Dusk Rose” color scheme, the car's paint is in great shape with only a minor paint retouch on the hood. The mileage is just over 25,000 on the odometer.
Included with this Thunderbird are both the detachable hardtop with the famed “porthole” window and a black convertible top.
The engine is the Thunderbird Special 312 cu in. V8 and as a D-code car with a single four barrel carburetor it puts out 245 H.P. The transmission is a Ford-O-Matic 2-speed automatic floor mounted. This car features power brakes, power steering and a radio. It also has factory air conditioning that does need service.
The interior is the original white vinyl and in good condition also featuring the original black floor mats with the Thunderbird logo.
The 1957 Ford Thunderbird is perhaps the outstanding model in the entire history of the Thunderbird line and remains highly collectable and sought after.
