1967 Cord 812
1967 Samco/Glenn Pray 810 Cord - Glenn Pray resurrected the Cord name in the early 60s and built approximately 96 Cord 810s. They worked with the original designer and reduced the body size 20% in the body was made out of Royalite supplied by Rubbermaid. This is the same material that is used to make canoes, ABS over foam. In 1967 the company was sold to Samco. While designing a V8 version Samco built 14 units with a Corvair powertrain as all of the Glenn Prays had been built. This is number seven of 14 built by Samco.
The entire drive train was rebuilt by a Corvair expert over asix-month period. This was a complete a no expense spared rebuild of the drivetrain. This included engine, the differential and the transmission everything was rebuilt. A new torque converter was installed, aluminum transmission, oilpan, aluminum engine oil pans no expense spared and at the same time it was converted to automatic. The front end was rebuilt with a new center link, new CV boots and full alignment. New Michelin tires were installed with new frontbrakes and new shocks. All new carpet was installed in the Passenger area and trunk. A remote oil filter was installed, you'll thank me on that! Runs beautifully! A stainless-steel dash plate was installed along with a new clock. We fabricated a floor shift automatic shifter with the Clarks floor shifterkit. I had a custom to boot made and the top is great shape. I never put it up!
