1972 BMW 2002TII
As the iconic BMW sports coupe, the 2002tii, paved the way for BMW in America, and was the precursor to the BMW 3-series. It featured fuel injection, great handling, and classic styling.
This particular 1972 2002tii was fully restored in the late 80's under previous ownership; was well-maintained in the 2000's; and saw light usage in the 2010's.
Current ownership (2022-present) recently completed an extensive and well documented restoration, over the past 3 years, totaling in excess of $40,000. This included chassis stripped to bare metal, necessary bodywork, then paint including 3 coats each of primer, basecoat, and clear coat. In addition, fresh mechanicals, included brake components, wheel cylinders, all suspension components, seals/gaskets, fluids, tune-up, etc., were completed. Also, replacement of tires, headliner, windshield, many trim parts, and much, much more were completed.
A couple of 3-ring binders with maintenance documentation, etc., on this car from previous owners; general 2002 documentation and information; and receipts from the recent restoration are included, along with a full set of 4 Shop manuals.
In addition, a blog on the recent restoration can be found at this link https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/310371-recently-aquired-72-tii/
This BMW 2002tii is the quintessential, and highly sought after, color combination of Malaga (deep burgundy) exterior and tan/brown interior. It is fully sorted mechanically, and needs only a few replacements, e.g., dashboard (slight cracks), OEM door seals, to be near perfection!
