1955 Ford Thunderbird
This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is finished in light blue over two-tone vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 292ci V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, chrome-finished wire wheels, rear fender skirts, a Continental kit, and an AM radio. The car underwent exterior and interior color changes while under previous ownership and was recently acquired by the selling dealer. The body was originally Raven Black (A) according to the data plate and was repainted in light blue at an unknown point during previous ownership. Features include an egg crate-style grille, chrome headlight visors, faux fender vents, fender skirts, and tail fins. Chrome-finished 15″ wheels are wrapped in Coker Classic whitewall tires. A body-color Continental spare wheel assembly is accented with chrome and mounted ahead of the rear bumper.
Blue and white seat upholstery replaces the factory black and white (XA) materials, and the matching door panels are accented by darker blue upholstery that extends to the dashboard pad. Equipment includes manually operated windows, an AM radio, and a storage cubby fitted atop the bench seat with dual cup holders.
The two-spoke steering wheel is trimmed with an aftermarket wrap and frames an instrument cluster housing a sweeping 150-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, which are flanked by a clock and a tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles, with total mileage unknown. The 292ci V8 was rated at 198 horsepower when new, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission.
