the Avalon Ballroom (San Francisco, CA). Created by famous rock poster duo Alton Kelley
and Stanley Mouse. FD17 CONCERT POSTER. FAMILY DOG PRESENTS JEFFERSON
AIRPLANE and THE GREAT SOCIETY at the AVALON BALROOM in SAN FRANCISCO on July
22-23, 1966 GORGEOUS authentic PSYCHEDELIC poster. This poster documents a significant
chapter in rock history. On this night unknown singer Grace Slick and her band The Great
Society opened the show for the Jefferson Airplane. Airplane's leader Marty Balin was so
impressed that after the show he asked Slick to join the band and the rest is history.
