Description

1959 Rover P4 90
A classic English sedan from the 50s, the Rover P4 90 was a top of the line saloon with a strong appeal to those Englishman seeking a solid and comfortable vehicle.
Rover had a long history of building sedans for the middle class and the 90 was the most popular of the P4 series.
This 4-door sedan is beautifully restored in an interesting green and tan paint scheme that really suits the solid styling of the 90. The car is rust free according to the owner who takes meticulous care of his collection.
The Rover 90 is powered by an inline 6 at 2.6 liters which can best be described as solid thanks to a cast iron block. This engine produced some 90 h.p. at the time. In a test report The Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 90 m.p.h. so it is aptly named the “90.”
This car features right hand drive and has the quirky central gear change lever mounted on the dash designed to allow three abreast seating in the front seat.
The bench seats both front and back the seats are in green leather matching the original green paint of the car. The interior is trimmed in beautifully polished wood.
A fascinating automobile from an interesting period in the history of the English car as the industry came back to life after the devastation of WW II. Very rare vehicle guaranteed to draw a crowd at any gathering with an interest in British cars.
